FINNIE WELCOMES RENEWAL OF RENFREWSHIRE FAIRTRADE ZONE STATUS

West of Scotland Liberal Democrat MSP Ross Finnie has welcomed the renewal of Renfrewshire's Fairtrade Zone Status.

The Renewal Report praised the range and variety of events organised and the level of media interest Renfrewshire had gained for the campaign. The commitment and support of Renfrewshire Council was also praised.

Commenting Mr Finnie said:

"I am a long time supporter of Renfrewshire's Fairtrade Campaign and it comes as no surprise to me that their Fairtrade Zone Status has been renewed.

"The Fairtrade Zone Status renewal is due to the hard working members of the Renfrewshire Fairtrade steering group and all the other Fairtraders across Renfrewshire.

"Renfrewshire is now being used as an example for other Fairtrade Towns to follow and hopefully soon every area across Scotland will be following Renfrewshire's wonderful example."
