PARLIAMENTARY MOTION CALLS FOR RETENTION OF RENFREW FERRY

Written by Ross Finnie on Thu 28th Jan 2010

West of Scotland Liberal Democrat MSP Ross Finnie has submitted a motion in the Scottish Parliament calling for the retention of the Renfrew Ferry.

Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) have decided to withdrawal the Renfrew to Yoker Ferry in March 2010.

Commenting Mr Finnie said:

"I was extremely disappointed by SPT's announcement that they were to scrap the Renfrew Ferry. The SPT have been far too quick to abandon the Renfrew Ferry.

"I have submitted a motion in the Scottish Parliament calling on the SPT to retain this essential service.

"I would implore all my fellow MSP's to rally round the campaign for the retention of the Renfrew Ferry."
