West of Scotland Liberal Democrat MSP Ross Finnie has praised the work of staff and pupils at St Kenneth's Primary School in Greenock.
In a report published by the HM Inspectorate of Education (HMIE) St Kenneth's Primary School received three very good and two good ratings. The Children's achievements across a wide range of activities and the acting Head teacher's vision and action to improve the life chances of children were also praised in the report.
Commenting Mr Finnie said:
"It is very pleasing to read such a wonderful report on a local school.
"The report on St Kenneth's Primary School further highlights the excellent work of the teachers and staff of the school who continue to provide a first class standard of teaching and support to their pupils.
"Earlier this year I visited St Kenneth's and I was very impressed by there Maritime History project and there idea of bringing a Scots built Oberon Class Submarine for a local history museum.
"Projects like this that focus on the local history of Greenock and the West of Scotland is one of the many reasons why St Kenneth's is such a great School.
"I am very pleased St Kenneth's has been give the recognition it deserves and I am sure that St Kenneth's will only continue to improve."
