FINNIE DISAPPOINTED VALE VISION APPROVED

West of Scotland Liberal Democrat MSP Ross Finnie is disappointed the Cabinet Secretary has approved the Vision for the Vale of Leven plan.

Commenting Mr Finnie said:

"Although I am glad many of the Board's original proposals have been reversed, I am disappointed by the outcome.

"I still feel the vision for the Vale of Leven is short sighted. The increase in the number of patients transferring to the Royal Alexandra Hospital Paisley from the Vale of Leven is both unnecessary and unacceptable.

"NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde should have considered expanding the catchment area to include the involvement of the facilities and personnel of the Golden Jubilee Hospital, which would have removed any need for transfers to Paisley."
