FINNIE PRAISES LOCAL CHILDREN'S CENTRE
West of Scotland Liberal Democrat MSP Ross Finnie has praised the work of Kelly Street Children's Centre in Greenock.
In a report published by the HM Inspectorate of Education (HMIE) Kelly Street Children's Centre received three very good ratings and two excellent ratings. The High-quality curriculum and the approaches of staff to meeting children's learning needs were also praised.
Commenting Mr Finnie said:
"I was delighted by the report on Kelly Street Children's Centre in Greenock.
"The Children's Centres staff have developed a wonderful approach towards the early education of children, this can be seen in the eagerness and progress in the children's learning. The Children's Centre provides a wonderful starting block for education making the transition from nursery to primary school seem much less daunting.
"Kelly Street Children's Centre is a brilliant example of early education and I am very pleased that local children are receiving such a wonderful standard of early education."
