CHILD HEALTH CHECKS MUST BE PART OF STRUCTURED EXAMINATIONS -FINNIE

Commenting on calls for primary school children to be weighed regularly to help tackle obesity, Liberal Democrat Health spokesperson Ross Finnie MSP said:

"Annual health checks for children to help tackle the worrying rise in childhood obesity must come as part of a wholesale restructuring of the health checks we give to young people.

"Medical professionals must get together and decide what, when and where health checks should be carried out. Liberal Democrats want to see a series of structured examinations not only weight, but sight and sound, dental and diet."
