West of Scotland Liberal Democrat MSP Ross Finnie has praised the work of staff and pupils at Largs Academy.
In a report published by the HM Inspectorate of Education (HMIE) Largs Academy received two excellent ratings, eleven very good ratings and three good ratings. The staffs care of pupils, learning experiences and the leadership of the head teacher were also praised in the report.
"I was very pleased and impressed by the report by the HM Inspectorate of Education on Largs Academy.
"I was not surprised by this outstanding report, which is a further demonstration of the hard work of the teachers and staff of Largs Academy, who continue to provide exceptional standards of teaching and support to their pupils.
"The head teacher leadership of the school is also very impressive; this is shown in the staffs commitment and focus to improve all aspects of the school.
"Largs Academy is one of Scotland's leading schools and can set the bench mark for other schools to aspire too.
