West of Scotland Liberal Democrat MSP Ross Finnie has praised the work of staff and pupils at Overton primary and nursery.
In a report published by the HM Inspectorate of Education (HMIE) Overton primary school and nursery class received five excellent ratings and nine very good ratings. The Staffs care of pupils, Learning experiences and the leadership of the head teacher were also praised in the report.
"I was very pleased and impressed by the report by the HM Inspectorate of Education on Overton primary school and nursery class.
"I was not surprised by this excellent report, which is further testament to the hard working teachers and staff at the school, who continue to provide exceptional standards of teaching and support to their pupils.
"The head teacher's leadership of the school is also very impressive; this is shown in the staffs commitment and focus to improve all aspects of the school.
"Overton primary school and nursery class can set the benchmark for the rest of Scotland's primaries to aspire too.
