ROSS FINNIE PRAISES RENFREWSHIRES APPROACH TO CLIMATE CHANGE

West of Scotland Liberal Democrat MSP Ross Finnie has praised the people of Renfrewshire for showing the highest levels of commitment to reducing levels of carbon emissions in Scotland.

Renfrewshire is the most environmentally committed area in Scotland according to green campaigners.

Commenting on the reports Mr Finnie said:

"I am very impressed that Renfrewshire is one of the most environmentally committed areas in Scotland.

"Renfrewshire's work to reduce carbon emissions is a credit to the work of the local council and the commitment of the people of Renfrewshire who are working hard to reduce Renfrewshire's carbon footprint.

"Renfrewshire can be an example to other areas such as Glasgow on the importance of reducing carbon emissions.

"Saving energy and fighting climate change is extremely important and can be done by simple daily energy saving habits, such as switching to energy saving light bulbs and not leaving appliances such as TVs, stereos and DVD players on standby.

"Saving energy to reduce climate change is an important task for the people of Scotland to ensure we are leaving a better world for our children's children.
